POSITION TITLE: Neighborhood Marketing and Outreach Coordinator
HOURS: Part-time; $20/hour for 20 hours per week
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Able to work well with others
- Leadership potential and able to complete tasks as assigned
- Excellent computer skills including social media fluency
- Multimedia communications experience
- Attention to detail
- College education preferred
ASSESSMENTS: 90-day and six-month reviews; position contingent upon performance and funding
REPORTS TO: Executive Director
BASIC FUNCTION:
With supervision from the Executive Director, the Neighborhood Marketing and Outreach Coordinator will assist with marketing, communications, and networking with residents, donors, sponsors, and the media to provide information and education about the organization and resources available, as well as collect input on community’s needs and desires.
The Neighborhood Marketing and Outreach Coordinator is primarily responsible for both direct and electronic communications including on the website, social media channels, and email.
This is a dynamic position in a small organization so both field work and office duties will be required.
WIDE RANGE of RESPONSIBILITIES:
Programmatic:
- Outreach to get to know the neighborhood’s residents, leaders, and property owners
- Design materials and messaging to best engage with the entire audience of neighborhood stakeholders
- Provide mechanisms to capture input from residents and owners
- Develop protocols for collecting, sorting, and utilizing data
- Implement programs to deliver messaging and information to stakeholders in an array of platforms
- Evaluate effectiveness of messaging and input collection
- Identify potential funding sources for marketing and outreach to residents
- Develop an understanding of best practices for neighborhood revitalization
- Participate in CP-TED and Design for All trainings
- Conduct home audit interviews with residents as part of Design for All project
Communications:
- Provide weekly updates to Executive Director (ED) on upcoming and past activities as well as authorization to approve any organizational funds to be expended
- Work with Director of Operations to recruit and organize volunteers to assist with organizational projects
- Prepare and provide a monthly update on activities to the board of directors
- Represent the organization at public events when assigned
- Interact with walk in visitors and troubleshoot any issues prior to involving ED
Reporting:
- Prepare all required documentation per funding sources for property improvements
- Gather and provide necessary documentation to request reimbursement for services rendered/funds awarded
- Maintain official programming records and documents, and ensure compliance with organizational, federal, state, local and/or other applicable regulations
- Provide payroll and other required documentation weekly
Abide by the Handbook of policies and procedures and all other duties as assigned by the Executive Director and/or Board of Directors.
